Subject : August 10 pre-scheduled system maintenance outage

Abstract :

As a reminder, Information Management's next pre-scheduled systems
maintenance day is this Monday, August 10.  As a result, some network
services will be down beginning at 4:00 AM, but we hope to have
everything back online by 8:00 AM.  If we run into unexpected
difficulties, some services may be down until as late as noon.

Our maintenance dates for the coming academic year are:

Friday, October 23, 2009 (after Block II)
Monday, December 21, 2009 (Winter Break)
Friday, March 12, 2010 (Spring Break)
Friday, May 21, 2010  (after Commencement)

IM typically schedules five maintenance days each academic year (before classes
begin, after Commencement, and during second Block Break, Winter Break, and
Spring Break).  In order to avoid extraordinarily high fees, IM does not pay for
7x24 support on all equipment, and so our maintenance days must be scheduled
during the daytime hours we can reach technical support if required.  For more
