Hello Fellow Hikers,
Is anyone interested in a hike Saturday morning at the Palmer Lake Reservoirs? Anthony and I have done this hike many times and the treat at the end is watching the beavers busy at their dam. The hike begins with quite a steep incline to the 1st reservoir, then is less steep to the 2nd reservoir. The beavers are at the end of the 2nd reservoir. This hike is “moderate.”
This hike offers many options: 1. you can hike up to the reservoirs and back to the trailhead (approx. one hour), 2. You can hike to the reservoirs, then up over the “mountain” and back down to the trailhead (approx. 1.5 hours), or 3. You can hike to the reservoirs, then up the mountain to Cap Rock and back to the trailhead (approx. 3 hours).
Let me know if you are interested and we’ll organize car pools, times, etc. The weather in Monument on Saturday will be windy with a high temp of 79 degrees. We thought we should begin by 8:30am.
Please invite any others you know who may be interested to join this listserv.
